For the first time ever, making sport history, the curling national team of Qatar held their training camp in Budapest, Hungary.

"We have spent a very active and useful week in Budapest between the 17-24th of December 2019.

We have returned to Qatar with lots of positive experiences. Of course there is a friendly realtionship between the Hungarian and the Qatari Curling, and this has been a step up in a sense compared to the coaching seminary two years ago. The cooperation and the paperwork went exceptionally well between the federations, and both players and me were greeted very friendly. It was highly important that the athletes get a positive picture of the curling community and I believe they got one.

The friendly games were more than useful, and the Hungarian teams were all very understanding with all the coaching interference and slower play from our side. A big thank you goes out to everyone for spending their time with us." - said Lajos Belleli, coach of the Qatari curling team. He also pointed out that not only the curlers but also a short track speed skater arrived to Hungary to train.
