The National Day reception was attended by H.E. Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, H.E. State Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Sultan bin Rashid Al-Khater, General Manager of Katara Cultural Village Dr Khaled Al-Sulaiti, and H.E. Amb. Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhro, Director of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. HE Rashid Al-Buayneyn, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee also attended the event.

 

 

During the ceremony which saw around 350 guests attending, following Ambassador Fodor's speech, Teqball Hungary in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary donated innovative tables to DREAMA Orphan Care Center and to Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy's Generation Amazing (GA). HE Maryam Al-Misned of DREAMA and Nasser Al-Khori of GA both delivered speeches thanking the donation and expressing their hope to further cooperate with Hungary and Hungarian partners. Two Teqball players from Hungary demonstrated the use of the table by playing various games on it, highlighting the inclusivity of sports.

 

 

 

On the sidelines of the event, Mr Gergely Murányi, Director of Diplomatic Relations at Teqball met with GA's senior officials in order to discuss plans and next steps of the joint efforts.

 

 

Also having a successful appearance at the reception was the dress created by the traditional Hungarian Matyó Design with a modern twist for this special occassion.

 

 

The night was hosted by Hotel Intercontinental Beach Doha, their chef prepared Hungarian dishes and sweets which pleased the crowd and received a number of positive reactions. In his speech, in addition to remembering the fallen heroes of 1956, Ambassador Fodor underlined the importance of national sovereignity and emphasised the cornerstones of the development of the Hungarian-Qatari bilateral relations.
